I was born in Vellore, India, and came to Chicago forty years ago. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago seems idyllic to me. In my teens, I left the U.S. with my parents to do mission work in South Asia. During my stint overseas, I learned a lot about true poverty, desperation, and survival. Towards the end of my stay, I wound up hospitalized for weeks with an infectious illness that killed many in the village I was staying in. The hospital was a small mud house. The physician had few resources, but he had empathy and genuine concern. He would visit at all hours of the day and night. This man became my hero. It was this experience that led me to Medicine. I hope to bring that same compassion and concern to my practice. It has meant a lot for me to be a part of this community. I hope to share what I have learned for years to come.

I started this practice on Sept 1, 2014, and began my medical practice in Gloucester on July 15, 1999, taking over for Drs. Robert Jedrey, Peter New, and Bruce Feldman. From the start, I felt an unwavering commitment to the patient experience. I was instrumental in bringing specialist services to Gloucester at a time when few specialists were interested in “crossing the bridge.” As President at Cape Ann Medical Center, I reached out to various specialists and services to create a vibrant medical park at 1 Blackburn Drive. I have worked closely with the Cape Ann community to keep Addison Gilbert Hospital alive.

Beth Shanks, PA

Physician Assistant

Beth is a certified Physician Assistant. A graduate of Arcadia University, Beth has been certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Beth is affiliated with Beverly Hospital, Addison Gilbert Hospital, and the Lahey Health System.

Michaela Peters

Practice Manager

Michaela graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelors in Health Science. After working for a few years as a technician, she chose to switch to the administrative side of healthcare. She aims for all patients to have a positive experience, and she believes this begins before they even walk through the door.

James Rowe

Medical Assistant

With more than 15 years’ experience, James is skilled at blood draws, performing EKGs, taking vitals, injections, and any other care you may need while in the office. Compassion is at the center of everything he does, and he strives to make every patient encounter a positive experience.

Carla Taormina

Medical Secretary

Whether you’re booking an appointment, following up on your care, or anything in between, Carla will make sure all of your questions are met with respect and in a timely manner. Her extensive background working as a medical secretary means she has the knowledge to handle your administrative needs.

Melissa Amero

Accountant

Melissa is an integral part of the team, and has worked closely with Dr. Isaac for over 5 years. She is able to answer any questions about insurance, billing, or collecting payment.
